Isaiah 60:1–6
Ephesians 3:1–12
Matthew 2:1–12
Sometimes people truly miss the light altogether. Maybe the light is so bright in their darkness, they choose to run or turn away. They sit in darkness, and dwell. The darkness is what they have known and they refuse to see the light. Sometimes, they dwell so long that they attempt to blame others, for where they are, and fail to realize that all they do is pull the other in.
There is hope in the passage from Isaiah. Hope came into this world, in a manger. Hope escaped danger from King Herod. Hope gave of Himself. Hope was revealed in the resurrection. Hope is here and now and will come again in the clouds.
Arise, Shine: for you light has come. What a great verse for the year!
