Well, I made it in less than 90 days this time. Busy, busy, busy. Sometimes I feel like I am so busy, I lose focus. However, lets change the focus today from what I have to do, to what has God done and does. Lots has been going on in our life and lots to keep us focused on God. Health care costs really have hit our family recently, and we had to make some touch decisions on how to take care of the family. But the entire time, we prayed for the answers, and God answered, as he always does, and has taken care of the family.
Just recently I had to call 911 for my wife. It was a scary time. I stayed calm, when speaking with my wife, who had something lodged in her throat, but just far enough that the Heimlich would not be of any help. When speaking with my wife, I was saying prayers at the same time. This is the second time something like this has happened to her, in 6 months. While in route to the hospital, I was following the ambulance. We were just going normal speed, since she could breath. Then, out of the blue the ambulance put in lights and siren and gained speed.
I was concerned, but knew that God had put the right people with her, and it was now in their hands with his guidance. All I could do was drive normal speed and see her when I got there.
As it turns out, she was unable to breath, as the food had started to come up and block her breathing now. She is ok and is seeking medical help for what has been causing the issues.
The kids were scared, but my son did a great job of staying calm, and keeping his sister calm.
Travis is a great one to have in an emergency. I remember in Cub Scouts, we had a tornado warning and everyone had to head to the basement of the school, during a pack night. One mom had 3 little kids. Travis went up to her to make sure he could help her take care of all of the kids. In emergencies, he thinks of others first!
